How did your experience or appreciation of the potter's wheel change after you experienced it for a class period? It changed for me because I didn't think that it would be fun to watch of even try out, but after I saw how good he was at pottery, it made me interested to try it again. He showed us some techniques that help me understand how to do it better. What did you learn about from Doug Reynold's visit? I learned that when you are on the potters wheel you have to lean you body over the wheel and have your arm locked, so you can apply pressure. | When you are using your doing your pottery, you need a small bucket of water. You need the bucket of water because you don't want your clay to get dry. Next, you can get a number of items, if you want to make a design on you clay in the end. You need to get your clay to stick to the wheel and get it centered. Next, you need to start forming what you want to make by leaning over the wheel and keeping your arm locked in place. Once you have your clay shaped the way that you want it, you can make the design that you want. After you have a design, you can take your clay off the wheel. Then, you have your final product. |
