For my design I took parts of my logo and transferred them on the piece of paper small enough so it would be able to fit on my piece of linoleum. After I pencil transferred my drawing on to the piece of linoleum, I traced over where my pencil made the marks with black sharpie. Then, I carved away anything that I wanted to leave white. After that step, I printed in the color pink, using the brayer to roll out the paint on the metal sheet. I made a total of 8 prints with the pink color. After all of the prints were on the paper with that color, use the carving tool to cut out the things that you want to leave pink, so you can use a different color. I chose to use black for my background, so it would make the pick stand out. You have to be very careful so that way you are able to get the best quality print. Between each time that you want to print a new color, you need to wash off your print. This is to make sure that you are able to get all of your paint off from the first time. In the end, you should have the best quality prints, and you need to label your prints. her is an example: Morgan 1/5 That means that there is you would be looking at the first print out of five that you have. | Why did you decide on the design you did? I simply used my logo because I thought that it would be a challenge to print. If I got its to turn out good in would look really cool. What meaning does it have to you or how does it relate to your interest? I drew out my logo, and I really liked the way that it turned out. What did you learn from your printmaking project? I learned that it is easier to use a more simple drawing barbecueecause hen you are cutting it is hard to make small cuts. What did you like most about printmaking? What I like most about my project was how you got to pick you own design and What did you like least about printmaking? What I liked least about this project was that it was difficult to make clean cuts. Also, it was hard to make sure that you cut deep enough in to the linoleum so that when you started to print, it did not have little spots of a different colors showing up on your print. |
